Bypass Structures & Civil Works:Earthworks and Roadworks – Cut 2 AreaCut 2 area commences to the east of Structure No.1 in the town land of Adamstown and extends over a distance of 1.5km to the existing Dooneen Road. (Chainage 1,800 to 3,500m). The majority of the material was excavated using mechanical means with some rock blasting required in the latter stages. The average depth of dig in the area was 12.0m and the excavated material was used as ‘General Fill’ or was stockpiled, crushed and graded for the production of ‘Cement Bound Grannular Material' (CBGM) which is being used as part of the road pavement construction.Click here for photographs of the earthworks. |
