
Sowing the Seeds of Love
Author Tara Heavey will be reading from her new novel Sowing the Seeds of Love at Ardkeen Library as part of the Sean Dunne Writers Festival 2009. Tara will talk about how she became a writer and the process of getting published. The reading will on Thursday 19th March at 11am at Ardkeen Library. Refreshments will be available. Please come along on the day to join us for a cuppa and to listen to Tara.

As part of the Sean Dunne Writers Festival Ardkeen Library will be featuring works by the authors taking part in the festival. Authors include Tara Heavey, Peter Cunningham, Ulick O’Connor and Paul Carson. Stock from ‘The Store’!
Featured authors in March’s Stock from ‘The Store’ display are Patricia Scanlan and Patrick O’Brian. Stock from ‘The Store’ is a display of books from the library’s backstock of books normally kept in the store. The books will be available to borrow from Ardkeen Library during March. Irish Wildlife at Ardkeen Library
Discover Ireland’s diverse array of wildlife at Ardkeen Library. Throughout March and April Ardkeen Library is hosting a photographic exhibition of Irish wildlife. The exhibition features Irish birds, mammals and insects in their native habitats.
Woodland Ecology at Ardkeen Library
This exhibition celebrates 20 years of practical woodland conservation group "GroundWork" will be on show at Ardkeen Library during the month of April. The exhibition highlights the work of “GroundWork” volunteers, the problems with rhododendron within the native Irish Oak woodlands, why woodlands and national parks matter and how everyone can help.

Wonderful Wetlands at Brown’s Road Library
Wonderful Wetlands is and exhibition celebrating World Wetlands Day and Ireland’s beautiful wetland wildlife. The exhibition will be on show at Brown’s Road Library during the month of March. The exhibition explores habitats ranging from coastal areas like salt marshes to fens and bogs and highlights the need to protect these wonderful resources. Wetlands are a vitally important habitat in Ireland and are under threat from development, drainage and infilling. They are fantastic for wildlife and are extremely important in preventing flooding and for purifying water in Ireland.

Next meetings of Central Library Knitting Circles are on Wednesday 25th of March at 6:30 and on Thursday 26th March at 10:15am.
