The Ask about Ireland website is the showcase of information on Irish Heritage that can be found in the collections of local libraries, museums and archives countrywide. The Ask About Ireland website is available at www.askaboutireland.ie and is of interest to both students and local history enthusiasts.

Waterford City Council Library Service contributed web pages to Ask About Ireland on transport, sport and writers. The main source of information was the library’s books, records and newspaper microfilms. Over 200 photographs and images are featured.

Many people, including local historians and writers gave assistance and advice. Local historians Jack O’ Neill, Bill Irish and Anthony Brophy, kindly contributed to audio pieces, each regarded as an expert in their chosen area.
