Surfing the net can be fun but here are some easy rules to remember that will keep you safe while you surf
- Keep your Internet passwords private and change them often
- Don’t give your email address to anyone you do not know.
- Don’t give out any personal information -your full name, address details, phone number or the name or location of your school.
- Delete any emails or attachments from people you don’t know.
- Never agree to get together with someone you "meet" online without
first checking with your parents.
- Never send a person your picture or anything else without first
checking with your parents.
- Do not respond to any messages that are mean or make you feel uncomfortable, it is not your fault if you get a message like that. If you do, tell your parents straight away do they can contact the online service.
- If you enter a site that makes you feel uncomfortable please tell your parents or if you are surfing in the library -a library staff member
- Don’t believe everything you read if you have any questions about anything you have seen on the web ask the person who looks after you or a library staff member
