The new Index Gallery Space at Central Library was opened by the Mayor of Waterford Cllr. Jack Walsh on 14 January 2009.

The Index Gallery space is situated in the foyer of Central Library and already has hosted exhibitions from a wide range of artists including Pat McArdle, Ali Razza, Tom Mullane and Conrado Velasco.

The gallery aims to support the arts and artists in the City by offering a new exhibition space and is a natural extension of the role of the Library in the Community. It provides a free of charge, space for art exhibits which reflect the diverse cultural interests of the City, bringing art into the heart of the community.

The Index Gallery is looking forward to hosting a number of exciting exhibitions in 2009. Submissions from local artists and community groups are welcome. For more information on exhibiting at the Index Gallery contact the Central Library desk at 051 849975 or email Sinead O’Higgins.
