Take steps to Greener Living with the ENFOpoint service in Central Library, an initiative of the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government and An Chomhairle Leabharlanna.
ENFOpoint provides practical information for members of the public on a wide range of local, national and international environmental topics from growing your own food to saving energy. During the year the ENFOpoint hosts a variety of talks, exhibitions and workshops by local and national agencies and experts. The service works closely with the Children’s and School’s Librarian and the Environmental Awareness Officer from Waterford City Council, to run workshops and talks for local schools in support of both the junior and senior curriculums.
Central to the ENFOpoint service is the ENFO website. At www.enfo.ie you can learn about Ireland’s environment in a range of comprehensive articles, find out who does what and how to contact them. Discover answers to environmental questions like: how to compost, how to reduce your carbon footprint, how to be a green shopper and much more. There’s a special area just for kids where you can discover all about the environment, learn ways to protect it and play exciting games and puzzles.
