Waterford  City Council Library Service provides public access to over 160,000 books, DVDs, CDs, journals, magazines and newspapers in our 3 branches in Waterford City.

Our Libraries are meeting places, information points, exhibition spaces and community hubs. Through our wide range of services, we aim to play a significant role in the lives of the individuals and communities we serve.

Bealtine Festival

This year’s Bealtaine Festival theme is “What kind of old do you want to be” and with this in mind, the Library service has a programme of events running throughout the month of May to cater for all interests. Click here to see the programme of events.

Polish Exhibition

The Central Library in Lady Lane, Waterford will be the venue for the exhibition from 14th to 30th May. The official launch will take place on Wednesday 16th May at 6.00pm. Admission is free and all are welcome. This exhibition will be hosted by the Waterford Europe Direct Information Centre (EDIC). The exhibition “Truth and Memory, Smolensk 2010” is a tribute to the 96 people who died. It also depicts the scenes of national mourning in Poland following the tragic events of April 10th, 2010.
