Industrial Relations

 

The HR department deals with matters relating to employer/employee relations and works through the Partnership process with union representatives to resolve issues at the earliest possible opportunity.

 

The role of the department in this area also includes :

  • Implementation of nationally negotiated agreements.
  • The processing of union claims, including representing the City Council at the Labour Court, Rights Commissioners and other various statutory appeal tribunal hearings.
  • Conducting all discussions/negotiations with the relevant Trade Unions at local level relative to all aspects of the employment, pay and conditions of service of employees.
  • Overseeing the administrative implementation of all conditions of employment for employees of the local authority, both statutory and those subject to voluntary agreement.
