The function of the Water Services section is to provide an adequate supply of piped water of suitable quality for domestic, commercial, industrial and other uses and to provide a safe and adequate system for the disposal of sewage and other water-borne waste.

All commercial businesses are reminded that they should have 24hour storage capacity on their premises to allow for interruption to water supply as a result of pipe bursts or supply issues that may arise.

Current Projects

Updating District Meter Areas and the installation of automatic data loggers

Switching to a new water billing system for all commercial water rates customers. This follows on from the introduction last year of remote meter readings for more than 90% of commercial water meters.

Inspection of householder’s service pipe connections that suffered water loss due to frozen pipes in January and December 2010.

Survey of houses served by shared/common services
