Parks & Open Spaces

 

Waterford City Council has responsibility for the maintenance of Parks & Open Spaces in the city.

 

This includes public parks, tree pruning, grass cutting and weed control. Further information can be obtained on these areas by contacting Hugh Carrigan, our Horticulturist.

 

Playgrounds
The provision of playgrounds is a priority for Waterford City Council and to date, the Council has provided seven playgrounds around the city.

 

  • The People’s Park (includes toddler play area, skateboard park and exercise area).
  • Railway Square
  • Farronshoneen Park
  • Ballybeg Park
  • Manor St. John (Playground and MUGA *)
  • Butler Community Centre
  • Carrickphierish
  • Hennessey’s Road

  • * A MUGA is a Multi-Use Games Area and has an all-weather playing surface.
