City Manager
Waterford City Council is the democratically elected body with responsibility for the management and delivery of local government services within the City of Waterford.
In meeting this challenge, the Council is guided principally by the Waterford City Development Plan 2007, the Corporate Plan and City Development Board Strategy, all of which are available on this website.
The objective to make Waterford the Quality of Life centre of the South-East includes the provision of the physical, social, cultural and economic infrastructure appropriate to a progressive, developing European city.
The City Bypass has been completed ahead of schedule, and the motorway link to Dublin is well underway, which will give direct accessibility, via the Outer Ring Road to all neighbourhoods within the city.
The development of the Regional Sports Centre, incorporating a swimming pool, indoor arena, cardiovascular and aerobic suites compliments the athletics and football facilities which will shortly have increased spectator capacity to over 3,000. Add to this the necklace of public parks and playgrounds which the Council is providing throughout the city to cater for all ages and interests.
The partnership forged with the arts community in improving arts venues and supporting cultural development is augmented by the City Council’s own museum, Waterford Treasures.
As well as the information on the broad range of City Council services, our interactive website allows for a range of online payments, enables planning and register of electors enquiries and facilitates ease of access to our library services.
