Quaker Material

This small collection of 20 items was donated to the Archives by Mrs. Edith Little, John's Hill, Waterford and relate to her mother's family, the Whites. The collection includes a 1787 letter signed by Prince William (son of George III and later King William IV) at Cork to "so loyal & respectable a people as the Quakers" thanking them for their personal good wishes to him and stating that he will inform the King of the sentiments they have expressed.

The collection includes the last will and testament of Thomas White of King Street, Waterford, 1836, and 2 copies of apprenticeship indenture for George White to "serve his time" for 6 years under Edward Smith, Haymarket, City of Westminster, Chemist & Druggist, 1824. There are also 9 letters written to George and Albert White by family members and business contacts, 1837-1838.
